We are a team of college students based in Albany, NY, who grew up exploring the Adirondack Park. We started The Trailhead after witnessing a growing crisis in the High Peaks: as trail traffic increases, so does the education gap. Out of millions of visitors to the Adirondacks every year, only about 60,000 hikers are reached by physical stewardship. We realized the mountains didn’t need another generic retailer; they needed a brand that places environmental stewardship above everything else.

As student entrepreneurs, we recognize that the future of the Adirondacks rests with our generation. We believe that protecting the wild places we love is a collective responsibility, which is why environmental stewardship is at the core of every decision we make. From supporting local trail maintenance to promoting hiker education, our goal is to ensure the High Peaks remain wild for those who follow.
